Keryn Tsimitakopoulos, Associate Director within the S&P Global Commodity Insights upstream research division.Keryn joined S&P Global Commodity Insights's Plays and Basins Insights team early in 2021 and works on global exploration, supply and upstream trends. Prior to joining S&P Global Commodity Insights, she was with Tullow Oil, supporting the company's onshore exploration efforts within numerous basins along the East African Rift, and ultimately extending learnings from successful basin opening campaigns in East Africa to assess frontier acreage potential within the Ivorian Basin of the West African Transform Margin. Prior to Tullow, she held technical exploration and production roles within the mining and minerals industry of South Africa, starting her career at Samancor Western Chrome Mines in the north of the country and then moving south to join De Beers Marine, where she contributed to resource development and mining of alluvial diamond deposits within Cretaceous and Tertiary systems of the Southwest African Coastal Basin.
Educated in South Africa, Keryn graduated with a Master of Science degree in 2003 from the University of Cape Town.
