Jessica Leyland is a Senior Political Analyst specialising in the Middle East and North Africa region within the Country Risk and Forecasting team at S&P Global Market Intelligence.Jessica specialises in political risk and violence trends across the Middle East and North African region, with a special focus on Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Eastern Mediterranean countries. Prior to S&P Global Jessica led the Middle East and North Africa desk at a political risk and intelligence consultancy in London, with a focus on insurance, security, NGO and media clients in the UK and MENA regions. Before this, she spent seven years with two large investment management groups, managing relationships with Middle East and Central Asian sovereign wealth fund investors and European institutional investors and consultants.
Jessica holds an MSc in Political Economy of Violence, Conflict and Development - MENA focus from SOAS, University of London and an MA in Arabic from the University of Edinburgh.
