Dr. Ghandi's principle areas of expertise and responsibilities include long-term energy demand, supply and trade forecasting/modeling in addition to enhancing legacy long-term forecasting models into more robust and dynamic tools.

At S&P Global, Dr. Ghandi also leads the annual publication of the long-term medium and heavy-duty outlook that includes sales, fleet and energy demand forecast until 2050 in China, Europe, US and Japan. In addition, he provides oversight to various aspects of the S&P Global Annual Strategic Workbook (ASW). As the company's flagship product, ASW provides long-term view on refined products demand, supply and trade at the regional/country levels. Specifically, Dr. Ghandi manages the long-term trade modeling of regional refining products, including gasoline, diesel, naphtha, jet, and residual fuel oil as part of ASW annual update.

Prior to joining S&P Global, Dr. Ghandi served as a postdoctoral research associate at the MIT Energy Initiative. In this role, he led the transport sector of the MIT Joint Program Economic Projection and Policy Analysis model on long-term global light-duty vehicle fleet projections for internal combustion engine vehicles, BEVs, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and fuel cell electric vehicles.

Dr. Ghandi holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Tehran, Iran, a master's degree in economics from the University of California at Davis (UC Davis), and a PhD in transportation technology and policy from the UC Davis Institute of Transportation Studies, United States.
