Chris McLoughlin

Division General Counsel

Chris Mcloughlin is the Division General Counsel of S&P Global Market Intelligence. Chris is based in London and leads a global team that provides legal support to the entire division and is a member of the Market Intelligence Operating Committee.

Chris joined the firm in 2012 focusing on corporate transactions, subsequently becoming Deputy General Counsel of what was then IHS Markit in 2016, leading the IHS Markit global commercial legal team and other corporate legal functions including M&A, Strategic Alliances, employment, immigration and the firm’s insurance portfolio.   Prior to that, Chris worked at the international law firms, Ashurst and Mayer Brown, working on a range of corporate transactional and advisory matters, international M&A, equity issuances, joint ventures and restructurings.

Chris holds a LLB (Hons) from Manchester University and went to Nottingham Law School.
